DIABETES RESOURCE CENTRE (D'CENTERS)
The National Diabetes Institute (NADI) of Malaysia – a non-profit, non-governmental organization (NGO) – established a one-stop Diabetes Resource Centre (D'Centers) in 2014 with the aim to promote a healthy lifestyle to the public.
We also aim to provide free or subsidized services for the prevention and better control of diabetes, its complications and associated cardiovascular risk factors (such as high blood pressure, high blood cholesterol, heart disease and obesity), especially for those in the lower income groups.

OUR SERVICES
We aim to provide the following services for free or at nominal costs, especially for patients referred from government hospitals and clinics

4. Specialist counselling
e.g. Cardiologist, Diabetologist/Endocrinologist, Orthopaedic Surgeon (Dr. Kam Ming Long)

e.g. Fundus camera
6. Diabetic foot care
e.g. Nail trimming, Corns & Callus removal, Simple wound & ulcer management
7. Anodyne therapy
Diabetes Resource Centre
- Providing advice on diabetic care, diet, exercise and healthy lifestyle by qualified diabetes educators, dietitians and nurses.
- Regular workshops, seminar and lectures are conducted for patients and healthcare professionals.
Checking for Diabetic Control and Complications
- We also have facilities for assessing diabetic control and early detection of diabetic complications.
a) The Nurse Educator provides counselling services on proper diabetes care and self-monitoring to
people with diabetes.
b) Talks on self-management of diabetes are regularly conducted at NADI’s office.
c) Tests available at nominal or no cost include:
• Blood Glucose
• HbA1c
• Urine Microalbumin
• Blood Lipids
• Blood Pressure
• Body Mass Index (BMI)
• Body Fat content
• Retinal photography for diabetic retinopathy (Fundus Camera)
• Electrocardiogram (ECG)
• Microfilament test for diabetic neuropathy
d) Anodyne Machine for treatment of Diabetic Peripheral Neuropathy

The Continuing Professional Development (CPD) Series as "Diabetes Asia 2023" Conference aims to help improve the management of diabetes with emphasis on recent advances and practical aspects of diabetes care.
